From Hair to Beauty to Makeup: EB's Fresh Face Has Done It All

We chat with our very own Clinic Manager Ashlee, as she spills about her experience working in the Hair, Beauty and Makeup Industry.

Introduce Yourself:

Ashlee: My name is Ashlee and I'm the clinic manager here at Empowering Beauty.

What inspired you to enter into the hairdressing to the beauty and makeup industry?

Ashlee: I started off hairdressing and decided it wasn't for me anymore after I finished my apprenticeship and I really didn't know what I wanted to do but I knew I still wanted to be in the industry though so I started working as a salon coordinator in a beauty clinic and my boss at the time asked me if I would like to become a therapist and I really hadn't ever thought about becoming a therapist, but she told me I would make a great therapist so I decided to give it a go and I fell in love with it.

"I decided to give it a go and I fell in love with it."

Can you share some of your favourite beauty and makeup techniques or trends you've embraced over the years?

Ashlee: I absolutely love the 'clean girl' makeup trend by far as it's so timeless and effortless.

How did you approach creating personalised beauty looks for your clients?

Ashlee: I always asked what they were wanting and made sure I would go through that extensively before going ahead with the service.

What brought you to Empowering Beauty? And how does it align with you and your experience?

Ashlee: I came to Empowering Beauty because I moved to Melbourne and absolutely loved the environment and culture that Empowering Beauty has, there is so much positivity and encouragement for everyone to succeed and so much support which aligns with me perfectly because I think it's so important to help women succeed in this industry.

How do you stay updated with the latest beauty trends and techniques, and what advice would you give to aspiring beauty professionals?

Ashlee: I keep up with trends via TikTok and Instagram for sure but I also try to keep learning with further education where I can.

My advice to aspiring beauty professionals would be to keep pushing through the challenging times because I promise it gets better with practice and time. Just believe in yourself :).

Keep up with Ashlee at Empowering Beauty.
